GCSE German Tutor

Sabina improved the confidence of my child’s French and German GCSE and definitely improved grades to 8 in both. I am grateful for Sabina’s systematic approach, reliability and wealth of resources.

Thanks to Sabina, my daughter achieved grade 8 in her German GCSE. In addition she not only enjoyed the lessons and further work but also developed a passion for learning German. She has become confident in her German conversation and had gone on to study German A level with Sabina. The lessons are well prepared, varied and highly professional, Sabina is flexible and willing to accommodate changes sometimes at short notice. I can’t rate her highly enough.

Sabina has provided the most amazing teaching for our daughter for both her GCSE and A Level German. For GCSEs the teaching was across all the language elements, whilst the A level support focussed on speaking and essay writing in support of our daughter’s traditional classroom education. The one-to-one support Sabina provided always focused on getting the best from each session. The work between sessions was tailored to suit the learning needs, and goals and expectations were always clear. Feedback given was informative, clear, and concise with areas of improvement always highlighted. The successes our daughter was able to achieve is testament to Sabina’s skill and passion as an educator. Any concerns we as parents had about on-line learning were quickly dispelled by the results we saw from the very first session. All sessions started and concluded on time, were conducted with utmost professionalism and the planning of sessions and administration of payment was flawless. The legacy of the work our daughter has done with Sabina is longer lasting than just achieving grades. The time they spent together has developed a desire to achieve in our daughter. The engaging teaching she received has kindled a deeper interest in the language and the country such that she has joined the German society now she is at University (despite not studying German) and is organising a summer holiday in Germany next year.

Sabina has been absolutely amazing with my son, who was really struggling with GCSE German, in particular the Speaking and Listening components. We originally signed up for 4 lessons (part of a deal we made contingent on Year 10 results) – and after one lesson my son asked if he could continue till the mocks, then again through till the actual exam. A big problem for him was that he felt that in school he was being taught the language purely to pass the exam and importantly, he now has a much better feel for the language and far more confidence about speaking it – and I believe that has been all down to Sabina. She has also been lovely to work with – we have had dialogue all the way through on progress and what to focus on and she even went out of her way to accommodate one extra lesson right before the oral exam! Obviously we won’t have results until August – but I would unreservedly recommend Sabina for support with German GCSEs!

Sabina worked with my daughter to support her in the stages leading to mocks and GCSE exams. Sabina has a well structured and organised approach to lessons and engaged extremely well with my daughter. She was thorough in lessons and homework, immediately noting weak points to work on and providing plenty of feedback. My daughter’s confidence in the subject boosted significantly. She received her GCSE results recently and I was delighted to see that she achieved a 9. A huge thanks to Sabina’s support – couldn’t recommend her enough.

Put simply, Sabina is just amazing. She is well prepared before every lesson and she ensures that everything learnt in a lesson is recapped at the end. She is very thorough and always notes down topics and grammar sections that my son wants to go over in the future. She assists him with his vocabulary learning and she always encourages him to extend this further. Sabina has helped my son with all aspects of his German IGCSE course and recently she has helped him perform highly in his speaking exam by tailoring her teaching to his needs.

She is also very flexible with her lessons and always finds a way to fit in my son’s lessons, especially as he approached the speaking exam, she set aside many lessons just for him! My son has only been having lessons with Sabina for a short amount of time, despite this his confidence has grown, his vocabulary recall has improved and his use and variety of complex structures in his writing has developed. Sabina has taken my son from an A/B (6/7) standard to a high A* (8/9) level. Overall, Sabina is great German teacher and I highly recommend her!

As a tutor, Sabina has been a great help with Georgia whilst studying for her GCSE in German. She has helped with both vocabulary and speaking, and her confidence has gone from strength to strength since starting with Sabina. Georgia is hoping to continue with A-level, and Sabina’s teaching method has assisted Georgia with this decision. Sabina is punctual and an excellent teacher and I would strongly recommend her.

My daughter, who is home-educated, has been working towards GCSE German with Sabina for about 9 months. She started as an absolute beginner and has made remarkable progress. She looks forward to her lessons, is motivated to do her homework, and is enjoying the subject. Sabina is friendly, professional and well organised, and her teaching has a clear structure, direction and purpose. Altogether ideal, in fact.

I highly recommend the Ideal Teacher Language School. Sabina is a wonderful teacher. She is helping my son with his GCSE German and he has seen huge improvements across all areas even after just one month. In addition to being a subject expert, Sabina is very adept at relating her subject knowledge to the GCSE syllabus, making it clear as to what is required at each level, all the way up to achieving the top grades. Sabina combines thoroughness with patience, kindness and easy to understand explanations which makes her lessons very enjoyable.

Sabina is a great tutor for my daughter, who is studying GCSE German.The lessons are well structured with relevant back up materials. The lessons have focused on developing my daughter in those areas where she is less confident. However, Sabina has also introduced newer aspects of the language that has really enriched my daughter`s understanding. Overall, the lessons are excellently tailored to my daughter`s ability and progress.

Sabina has been teaching my daughter French and German on a weekly basis since February. She is friendly and professional at all times. The transition from face to face lessons to Skype due to COVID-19 was seemless. My daughter is always enthusiastic about, and really enjoys, her lessons and looks forward to them. She really likes Sabina too. Sabina is encouraging and challenging in perfect balance.
